Although cities generate 80 percent of the world’s wealth, they are increasingly getting serious economic, social, demographic and environmental challenges. In 2050 lives 70 procent of the world population in cities and rapid urbanization and aging will cause increasing pressure on energy, infrastructure, transport and healthcare in the future. To address these challenges, cities need to implement new technologies.
No future scenario anymore
The smart city has long been no future scenario anymore. There are already a lot of them and they grow fast, keeping pace with the expansion of the Internet of Things.
