Firmware Engineer.

The FW engineer designs and develops firmware for (new) products. At the beginning of the development process, the FW engineer designs and builds the firmware for the Proof of Concept (POC), which proves that Remoticom can meet the customer demand.

The FW engineer designs and develops firmware for (new) products. At the beginning of the development process, the FW engineer designs and builds the firmware for the Proof of Concept (POC), which proves that Remoticom can meet the customer demand. Customer can be either an external or internal customer. The POC also helps the FW engineer understand the techniques required for the final product. An FW engineer has the freedom and responsibility to design the firmware and use techniques as they see fit, within Remoticom’s standards, so that the product meets the customer and product requirements set forth in the FRS document.

The FW engineer is accountable to the R&D manager.

Responsibilities.

• Deliver firmware on time.

• Firmware test ready and with description deliver to test engineer.

• Firmware meets the requirements of the customer and Remoticom.

• Revision versioning using GIT.

• Code is provided with clear comments (transferable).

• Writing unit tests.

AUTHORITY.

Choice of techniques to be used in the firmware within the Remoticom standard.

TASKS.

• Design and realization of POC.

• Provide support in the preparation of the URS and FRS.

• Design firmware based on URS and FRS.

• Provide support to fellow FW and HW engineers.

• Provide support to test engineers.

• Collaborate in a project group with HW and SW engineers.

• Improve and automate design processes.

• Investigate and/or resolve firmware issues in RMA product.
